What is Prime Factorization?
Prime factorization is the process of decomposing a composite number into a product of prime numbers. Every integer greater than 1 has exactly one unique prime factorization, a property guaranteed by the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic. The number 360, for example, decomposes into 2³ × 3² × 5.
