What are Number Properties?

Number properties are mathematical classifications that describe the characteristics of integers. Every positive integer has a unique combination of properties: parity (even or odd), primality (prime or composite), perfection (perfect, abundant, or deficient), and membership in special sequences (Fibonacci, triangular). A perfect number equals the sum of its proper factors (all factors except itself). The number 6 is perfect because 1 + 2 + 3 = 6. The number 28 is perfect because 1 + 2 + 4 + 7 + 14 = 28.
